Parent Is a Verb
PARENT IS A VERB, with Barry and Chanie Holzer, offers advice on how to be a pro-active parent. Parenting is the most important job we get in life, with the least preparation. Many parents today are afraid to parent, and remain passive in their roles, leaving their children without the strong role models and sense of security that strong parenting provides. Our goal is to guide parents on their journey with insights into themselves and how they are perceived by their children, and a discussion of the opportunities parenting presents, so you can raise your children suffused with love, filled with optimism, and the resilience and strength to fulfill their potential. For questions or comments email Barry and Chanie Holzer at . |

Forgotten Souls - Tisha B’Av Kinot 5768
Tisha B'av Kinot with introductions and explanations presented by Rabbi Dr. Tzvi Hersh Weinreb. Rabbi Weinreb redeems from anonymity heroes and victims of a variety of Jewish catastrophes including the Temple destructions, Pogroms of 1648-49, French Revolution and Napoleonic wars, and the Shoah. Focusing on various aspects of the soul with song, poetry and explanations of the Kinot, he also tells stories of very "soulful" men and women from Biblical times to the present, who have all but been forgotten, as well as reflections on forgotten facets of our own souls and how we can reclaim them. Recorded at OU World Headquarters NY, NY on Sunday, August 10, 2008 as a live webcast by the Orthodox Union. |

Memorializing the Murdered through the Teachings of their Master
The eight young men murdered on March 6, 2008 in Yeshivat Mercaz HaRav in Jerusalem were all fourth or fifth generation students of the revered founder of that Yeshiva, more than eighty years ago, Rav Abraham Isaac Kook. The teachings of Rav Kook emphasize love of the Land of Israel and the People of Israel. I thought it would be especially appropriate to memorialize these boys by perpetuating his teachings. To that end, I plan to deliver a brief weekly lesson, based on his teachings, for the duration of the year of mourning, concluding Rosh Chodesh Adar, 5769. |

Redemption to Redemption
Based on the book Redemption to Redemption by Rabbi Pinchas Winston, these lectures examine the deep connection between the holidays of Purim and Pesach. Even though Purim occurred after the close of the Torah, nevertheless, it is our preparation for the holiday of Pesach. If one understands the true opportunity of Purim, and takes advantage of it, then he will be in better position to experience the redemptive power of Pesach. And, to this, we must first better understand the story of Yosef and his brothers, as it relates to the Mishkan. Listen Now. |
Redemption to Redemption: Introduction
Why is it so important to celebrate Purim in the month immediately before Pesach, even in a leap year? Introduction to Redemption to Redemption by Rabbi Pinchas Winston.
